Up first, our friend and producer, Bill Smith, of Club 39 Studios. Not just a genius at the knobs, coaxing better versions of us through the mics, and finding a way to disappear the mic bumps, Bill is steeped in Boston music scene knowledge. He knows the bands, the players, and the songs. He’s got stories of the clubs, the stations, THE PARTIES, and secrets that will never be revealed. A professional voice on the Boston airwaves for a few decades (WRKO, WBOS, and WEEI – twice), Bill currently applies his skills as a producer, band whisperer, and celebrator of great sound for Boston’s best blues, jazz, and rock bands fortunate enough to book sessions with him. Bill has been a patient listener and guiding star on Backwards Hats journey forward.
